• Product Overview: UV-292 (CAS 41556-26-7)

UV-292 is a high-performance, liquid hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS). It is a mixture of bis(1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate (diester) and methyl 1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidyl sebacate (monoester) [citation:2]. Unlike UV absorbers, UV-292 works by scavenging free radicals generated during photo-oxidation, effectively protecting polymers from degradation. It exhibits low volatility, excellent thermal stability, and outstanding compatibility with a wide range of coating and polymer systems

  • Performance Advantages
Radical Scavenger (HALS): Intercepts and neutralizes free radicals, preventing polymer chain degradation .
Regenerative Mechanism: HALS are not consumed; they regenerate during the stabilization cycle, providing long-lasting protection.
Liquid Form: Easy to handle, dose, and incorporate into liquid resin systems.
Low Volatility & High Thermal Stability: Remains effective during high-temperature processing and curing .
Synergistic: Works effectively with UV absorbers (e.g., benzotriazoles) for enhanced weathering performance
Excellent Compatibility: Compatible with acrylics, polyurethanes, polyesters, and more
UV-292 is a versatile HALS widely used in coatings, adhesives, and polymer applications where long-term UV protection is required:
    Automotive OEM & Refinish Coatings
    Industrial Coatings (coil, wood, can)
    Waterborne & Solventborne
    Coatings Radiation-curable
    Coatings Polyurethane
    Adhesives & Sealants
    PVC Profiles & Sidings
    Thermoplastic Polyurethanes (TPU)
Polyolefins (PP, PE) Films & Moldings
    Inks & Overprint Varnishes
    Marine & Protective Coatings
    Automotive Coatings
UV-292 is particularly recommended for automotive clearcoats, basecoats, and refinish paints. It effectively prevents gloss loss, cracking, blistering, delamination, and color change caused by UV exposure. For clearcoats and metallic shades, 0.5-2% UV-292 is typically used in combination with 1-3% of a UV absorber like Tinuvin 1130 or 384-2.
    Construction & PVC
In PVC window profiles and siding, UV-292 (0.1-0.3%) provides excellent long-term weatherability, preventing yellowing and embrittlement. Studies show PVC with UV-292 retains >90% impact strength after extended outdoor exposure.

    Industrial & Wood Coatings
UV-292 is used in wood coatings, anti-corrosive coatings, and general industrial finishes to maintain appearance and prolong service life .
    Standard Packaging
    25 kg plastic drum .
    180-200 kg plastic-lined iron drum .
